Junior Blades
What is it?
A new session that will incorporate a fastrack enviroment for skaters wanting to
advance to reach their goals in the sport of ice skating.
Why, Who, What
The Aerodromes wants to promote all levels of skating whether it be Recreational,
Competitive, Synchronized, or Ice Hockey. This new session will be a introductory
class for those skaters who have a desire to perhaps compete or move through the
levels at a faster pace. The goals of this course is to give the students comprehensive
teaching in all aspects of the sport. This will include expert on-ice instruction
in small groups by some of Willowbrook’s most senior coaches. The on-ice instruction
part of the class will be no larger than 4 skaters per coach. Also included in this
session will be Power Class and an off–ice Conditioning class. The structure of
the on-ice class will be a ‘circuits’ type class that will rotate approximately
every 10 minutes. The on-ice tuition will last 40 minutes.
The session will benefit those skaters who are currently taking private lessons
and those who may be considering private lessons in the future! If your child wants
to compete then this course may be a perfect way to develop the skills needed to
progress to the ‘Next Level’
Requirements
Passed Delta, ( USFSA Freeskate 1) and has not passed any part of USFS Pre-Preliminary
Test. Under 13 yrs of Age.
Schedule
- 8:40am On-Ice Instruction in Rotation (40 min)
- 9:20am Power Class*
- 10:00am Off-Ice Conditioning Class.
* Junior Blades Power is incorporated with Pre-Preliminary Power
Course Fees
The Junior Blades course will run on a four weekly basis. All skaters who sign up
for the first course will be accepted*, although we reserve the right to reserve
places for the best 20-24 skaters in subsequent courses.
- 1st Course $120.00 (1/13/07)
- 2nd Course $120.00 (2/10/07)
* A maximum of 28 skaters will be allowed to enroll on a first come basis.
